This is a film about nurturing your inner child, and learning to appreciate the value of life and community, while also rising up to the pressures and responsibilities of adulthood. Creating this film entirely in stop motion, a craft that I’ve been working in all my life, not only encapsulates the energy and wonder of childhood but also infuses my own personality and turmoil into it. I want to reach all kinds of people with this film, both adults embracing the inner child in themselves, and kids who may be overcome with the overwhelming weirdness and madness of the world, and feel like their emotions are minuscule or don’t matter. I want to represent the sadness and mundanity in growing up without a clear direction or purpose, through something that’s entertaining and silly, but also something to show kids that hope can be found anywhere.
